Inspiration
We knew Ryan Blaney the driver – to make this work, we needed to know Ryan Blaney ‘the guy.’ His love of all things Star Wars and his outspoken take on pop culture and music gave us a lot to work with.
We began pulling together the visual elements for the larger piece, making sure we included not just Blaney, but his co-hosts Chuck Bush and Kim Coon.
As the work progressed, we kept tweaking. We wanted to make sure we had the right mix of iconic Start Wars imagery and common scenes from the races.
The final result gave us everything we wanted – we took NASCAR in a fun, new direction with a popular driver who wanted to take the sport to a larger audience. The artwork jumped off the page and the logo pulled on the well known Star Wars typography.
